Each pregnancy and labor was a different experience for me. With my first, my amniotic sac suddenly ruptured, and I felt a popping inside! There was a lot, and it instantly soaked everything. With my second, they broke my water. With my third, I was not sure it was my water at all, as I just had a slow leak. I asked the doc to test it, and it was amniotic fluid! With the fourth, my water did not break until very close to the head of my little girl being birthed! The one thing that was consistent is that it continued to leak, and that using my pelvic floor muscles as you would to hold back urine had no effect, and sometimes made it come out more! Hope this helps, but you will likely know when it happens. If in doubt, it is worth an office visit to have your OB check.

My water broke on the toilet. There was NO denying that it broke! I think it might be difficult to tell if it broke while taking a bath, but even then usually you leak for quite some time, and usually contractions start immediately if they haven't already. When my water broke, within an hour I was having strong, hard contractions and my baby was born within 5 hours.

With my first, my doc broke my water after about 16 hours of labor.
With my second, my midwife broke my water while I was in the birth tub pushing.
With my third, my water broke on it's own while I was in the birth tub pushing.
The two times it broke in the water, there was a big splash as the water rushed out of me into the tub around me (even though I was sitting down or squatting in the tub) and the water got kind of cloudy.
I have heard some women say that they heard a "POP" when it broke too.

Mine actually broke on the way to the hospital to be enduced. However, one of my friends water broke while she was in a hot tub (I griped at her about that, too) so she didn't realize. She thought she had a backache but was actually in labor before she even got in the water. Anyway, she didn't go to the hospital for more than 24 hours after that and they discovered the baby had gone to the bathroom inside of her! Both of them had bad infections but ended up being happy and healthy. On the other hand my bosses wife's water broke in the shower and she knew.

I had my water ruin at 36 weeks at the same time as washing my motor vehicle on the motor vehicle wash. It wasnt a great rush of water such as you notice on television, basically sufficient to make me think of i grew to become into peeing my pants. I went abode and altered clothing three times till now I referred to as my DR. I didnt recognize you will possibly desire to "leak". To me it seems such as you will possibly desire to flow to the hospital, or a minimum of call your DR or the hospital. i'm specific your water broke, and its important which you go in genuine away. For me my water broke yet no contractions began so I had to be brought about. you may get an infection enormously quickly after your water breaks, so get to the hospital, and goodluck on being a sparkling mommy!!! im 40-one.5 weeks and want my water might ruin!!!

In both of my births the water never broke until the wid-wife broke it when I was about to deliver. But it was a strong rush of fluid, I doubt it could happen without you knowing it.

with my second daughter my water broke after i had a hot bath. when i got out of the tub i had to pee so i sat down and did what i needed to do and after wiping myself i was still wet so i went to the couch and sat down on a towel and continued to dry off and i was till wet so i got up to call my mum and when i did my water started to gush down my legs (i could tell then that my water had broke) anyways if you think that there is a problem go to your local hospital and ask to be checked out and then you will know what's going on with your body
Good Luck and Take Care

Yes, mine did. No, it wasn't hard to tell. Urine has an odor, but the water has no odor at all (or consider it a 'sterile' smell). The water was basically clear, and there was a good amount of it (although not all of the water came out at one time). And you can't 'hold it' like urine; it just comes out!
