Go to my computer>tools>map network drive
select the drive letter you want to give and then input the ip number and drive name ex:\\192.168.1.1\vol1

This should work and you may need the rights to do this depend where you are trying to connect to

If your networking Windows boxes and you know the ip you could type in \\192.168.1.198\public as an example. 192.168.1.198 being the ip address and public being the name of the shared folder.

You type this into an explorer address bar. Or you can press Windows Key + E to bring up explorer or try

Start -> Run -> Explorer.exe

you need to use map network drive option.
Tools >> map network drive.

else just type the IP in the run.

In the "Start"->"Run" type \\IP_ADDRESS\SHARED_DRIVE_NAME and than press enter
It should open an explorer with the content of the shared rive.
