My Family organised a big suprise party for my cousin (6yrs old) but didn't tell me it was a suprise so when she came to visit I asked 'Hey are looking forward to your party.' to which she replied 'What party' the silence from the rest of the family was deafening boy had I put my foot in it.
Has anyone else got similar experiances?

I've done similar things - but not that one..
I wouldn't feel too badly - if you didn't know you didn't know.
It's not all that big of a thang in the grand scheme of things. A 6 yr old doesn't need a party to be a surprise anyway...they are happy just to have a party. In fact they love helping and planning for it - half the fun when you're a child is the anticipation of it...I'm not getting or understanding why anyone would ever have a surprise party for a little child like that anyway...but..as I said - no biggie - and don't feel bad..so take the foot out of the mouth...lol

i'm 21 years previous and have enjoyed oldies for the reason that i will bear in ideas, owing to my dad. i became flipping interior the direction of the channels and observed the VMAs and found out i did no longer have a clue who every physique became anymore (different than Justin Timberlake from NSync) yet i'm somewhat content with the impressive song i'm in to. Favorites are certainly '60s and '70s and White Stripes for my modern-day song. do no longer challenge approximately what others like, "in the present day's song ain't have been given the comparable soul, i admire my previous time rock n roll" (comparable ingredient befell whilst i offered a DDR game and that i did no longer understand who Fall Out Boy is.)

It's not your problem when they did not tell you - and what type of surprise party would a 6 year old have? He is already expecting party... she is a kid. Surprise parties are more for the people that understand what they are.

No. And it's not your fault, so don't feel bad about it. They should have TOLD you it was a surprise party. They should feel bad for not telling you in the first place. Gee

my old boss told me she was sorry she couldn't come to my bridal shower, and I said what bridal shower. I knew I was having one, just didn't know when but then I knew!
