if direct democracy means (pure) democracy then it means that every citizen would get a chance to vote on issues instead of what we have in the US: a representative democracy where we vote in politicians to do it for us. A pure democracy would lead to civil war most likely b/c too many people would be able to disagree, anarchy would be a likely result,....so i would say D is your answer

A democracy, whether direct or via representative republic, is might-makes-right mob/majority rule.

Without some governing set of rules that the majority can't just ignore (like a constitution), the will of the majority overrides any minority rights.

Which, if it happens long enough and is serious enough, may lead the minority to rise and try a different type of might-makes-right using force, rather than voice.

Direct democracy is mob rule and is very close to anarchy. Basically the majority of people will take advantage of their majority and cause the minority to suffer, which will often result in an uprising by the minority resuting in a civil war.
