you don't need a computer however you do need an internet connection so I don't know how you would have one and not the other but it doesn't matter. For the 360 on live you need to create an email address when you sign up but you never need it again for anything unless you want to get your game results which are emailed to you. Trust me I know about xbox live for the original xbox I've had about 10 gamertags and there is nothing you NEED a computer for you may want to use stats and things like that online but no need for a computer.

Hi,
No, Xbox Live is a service for the Xbox. While you will not need a computer to enjoy Xbox Live, you will need an Xbox.
Cheers!

I believe xbox live, is a wireless internet type thing, to play other game user from across the net. So I would have to say yes, along with that a wireless router, unless of your course you able to pick up a signal from somewhere else, but I would guess it wouldn't be a very good signal, unless you have one in your home.

there are two answers to match your question. yes and no.
it is optional to have a computer to hook up to xbox live, however, it needs to be hooked up to a dsl modem, so that the high speed network is shared with your computer.
now if u have a dsl modem, u can directly use that modem to connect to xbox live via CAT5 ethernet cable.
any questions?feel free to drop me an email;)
