I have had it ever since I was 10 and it's been sitting in my Dad's storage for about a year and a half so it needs refinished. So now that I have my own house now I need some ideas on what I can do with it to make beautiful but the bad thing is I still have no room in my house for it and no one wants to buy it. I hate to throw it out but I don't know what I could do with it. PLEASE HELP! :)

Take the mirror off and hang it on the wall above your bed. Take the bottom part, put a piece of plywood across the top to level it off and put pretty fabric or tablecloth over it. (I've used one of those soft throws with fringe or even a couple layers of white sheer curtains) and use it as a table for your entry or as a buffet in the dining room. I've also done this between my front picture window and the sofa. I put a couple of matching, lightweight lamps (I think they're called candlestick lamps) on each end and some photos in frames. Very pretty. I have one behind a chair in my living room now with sheers over it and a mirrored top. I have a lamp that dates from the forties on it and pieces of my silver collection on it. It's really nice.

!. Take the mirror off, add a chain to the back and use it as a mirror.
2. Cut the legs down a bit and use it as a coffee table.
3. Take the mirror off and convert it into a dolls house.
4. Convert it, with a small bathroom sink, to a bathroom vanity.
5. If you have a walk in robe......use it (minus the mirror) in there to hold your shoes.
6. Leave it where it is until you need it or donate it to Goodwill.
7. Get rid of something in one of your bedrooms to make room for it. If you dont think you'll do a good restoration job, pay a professional to do it.

I really think this is a stage all babies go through around this age because my daughter is the same ages and doing all the same things she was an angel and the last few weeks i am almost pulling my hair out in frustration because she is just constantly crying if i or someone else is not entertaining her. And i have noticed alot of these type of questions are centered around 4-5 month olds. I have play gyms, a jolly jumper, 100s of soft toys rattle mirrors etc, we go to gymbaroo (baby gymnastics) once a week and we are starting swimming lessons soon when all this fails a trip to the shops or a friends or even a walk around the garden usually keeps her occupied for a while. I sometimes wonder if it is because she is an only child because when we go to friends houses who have a few kids she seems entertained enough to just watch them play?? Thought of a mothers group or some other type of group activity because they do say now is when they start to want to socialize with other babies even themselves in the mirror (they dont know its not them yet).....good luck hope all turns out well im sure it will.

I have one of these along with the matching chest of drawers. You'd have to sand it down, then restain it and varnish it. It is very valuable, so don't sell it if you can help it. It's really fun to do, and if you don't want to sand it, there are products that will take the old finish off - I just don't happen to like them. When you've finished it, and after it is completely dry, wrap it in a soft blanket until you can find room for it. I have the stool for mine too, and I just love the whole set!

Why not turn it into a bathroom sink/vanity? Strip and paint or stain, have someone cut a hole the shape of the sink you desire, and have it plumbed in. The mirror can be used as the bathroom mirror. Good luck!

Get ideas from Home Depot.

Give it away on freecycle or craigslist.

Chop it up and use it for firewood in the fireplace. Did you try selling it on Ebay?

Why don't you try selling it to an antique shop? It seems pretty old.
