The only way to know why something has changed in your professional relationship is to ask. If things are okay, you boss will reassure you. If you get vague answers, update your resume and start a job search--just in case (it's not necessarily a sure thing).

Actually, ask around the office and see if other people are experiencing the same behavior. If you are the only one, or if there is only a couple of people, you might be in trouble. If he is that way with everyone, either he is having some personal problem or else there are massive layoffs coming.
