ProActive really works good. look for some spot treatments with Salycic Acid in them, that does wonders. Your dermatologist could also give you some cortisone injections. Or go back to your doc and tellhim that it didnt work and u want to try something else.

When you wash, be sure not to scrub or rub too hard or for too long. Over stimulating the skin can actually cause your pores to produce more oils.
Also be careful to not strip all the oils from your skin with products that dry your face out. Your body will, again, try to fix the dryness by producing even more oil.
Talk to your Dr. again and tell him what is happening. Perhaps working with an esthetician (Getting facials) would be a good idea while you are being treated by your Dr.

I thought I had acne. I washed my face with every wash available. After 10 years of fighting dry, flaki skin and zits I figured it out. The secret is to use a non-soap cleanser and the moisturize. I thought that moisturizer would give me more zits, but it turns out the reason I had them is I was making my skin work overtime to make oil by washing it all the time, even with prescribed crap. I use 100% coconut oil. I haven't had one zit, one dry flake. My pores are smaller. My premature wrinkling is GONE. And the red in my cheeks has disappeared, too. All this within 5 days. This stuff works better than proactive, and it is only $15 for two years worth. (I thought it was crazy to put oil on my zits, but for some strange reason it worked. Google this: coconut oil for acne.)

Sometimes using medications too much can either render them ineffective or just make the problem worse. Try to go without it for a few days (give your poor skin a break!), and see if your diet is contributing to it. If you go on a low-fat diet, skip chocolate, drink lots of water and cut out greasy meats for a while, your skin can improve. Then go back on the medicine. I have steriod creams I have to stop using when they don't work as well, and then after a month, they react better with my skin. The American diet is wreaking havoc on our skins!

How long have you been using the prescription medicine? have you given it time to work? I know you want it to go away over night but sometimes it does take a bit of time. Ask your Dr. how long it should take to see results; if it has already been that long and it's not working for you tell your Dr. There may be aomething else that he/she can prescribe. But remember with each new medication it will need time to work. Good Luck to you.

Are you willing to spend $30-$40 on something that is guaranteed to work? Then try Pro-active! Many people say that it has helped them! Try it and your break-out problem might eend in less than a week!

Try this stuff from origins...i think it's called spot remover! but if you go in there and say that they will know what you're talking about. It has worked miracles for me...three days twice a day and what ever was there, is there no more.

It takes time for many medications to work. Some can take as much as 6 weeks. Also use the proper soap recommended. I recommend, as does my dermatologist Dove.

You might need to have your hormones checked. Everyone has Testosterone, but some have more than others which can lead to breakouts.
