The condom was never entirely in me, it was hanging out. I would not be worried except he spilled it a little when he took it out. I am just worried about pregnancy we have been married for less than 1 year and are in graduate school and neither of us are ready for this. We are usually really responsible but for some reason not so much this time. Help!

I am entirely aware anytime you have sex, pregnancy is a chance. I just wanted some opinions for piece of mind.

Ovulation usually happens around day 14 of your cycle. You were past your ovulation period by about 20 days. This means that you missed that egg and the new egg isn't due to show up for another week or so.

Since sperm usually only survive in you for about three days, I would say you are most likely in the clear.

But then again... stranger things have happened. If a child is meant to be, it will be.

There is always a chance of pregnancy when having sex but it sounds like your chances are low. Most females usually ovulate about 14 days after the start of their period but every female's body is different. Don't stress about it too much. Just wait and see if your period comes next month and if not then definitely take a test.

There has to be an egg present for fertilization by the sperm within 24 hours of being released. This being said some women seem to have an overabundance of eggs and are able to get pregnant very easily despite being on birth control or on their period. Many women have to plan carefully in order to conceive. It is too soon to say what type of reproductive system you have and what could happen but if you are feeling concerned you may want to double up on your birth control method in the future.

About a week before your period is when you ovulate. So you have about 2 weeks. Sperm doesnt last that long. It is a very low risk, but it is there. If it didnt come off inside and he didnt get any on you then you should be ok.
