Talc is toxic. Talc particles cause tumors in human ovaries and lungs. Numerous studies have shown a strong link between frequent use of talc in the female genital area and ovarian cancer. Talc particles are able to move through the reproductive system and become embedded in the lining of the ovary. Researchers have found talc particles in ovarian tumors and have found that women with ovarian cancer have used talcum powder in their genital area more frequently than healthy women.2Talc poses a health risk when exposed to the lungs. Talc miners have shown higher rates of lung cancer and other respiratory illnesses from exposure to industrial grade talc, which contains dangerous silica and asbestos.

The common household hazard posed by talc is inhalation of baby powder by infants. Since the early 1980s, records show that several thousand infants each year have died or become seriously ill following accidental inhalation of baby powder.3

Talc is used on babies because it absorbs unpleasant moisture, however dusting with talcum powder endangers an infant's lungs at the prospect of inhalation.

Papilloma viruses are a category of viruses that cause warts. Whether it is a planters wart on your foot to cervical warts. They mutate or alter their genetic code every year, so the vaccines known as gardisil is just for a few strains and just like the flu vaccine, will be obsolete for other new strains.that form later on. Papilloma viruses cause the affect that we see as warts, it is an irritation of raised skin around the colony of viruses that took over your own cells. You cannot see these warts internally. All viruses do this in one form or another. They invade your cells to live off of you. Some form blisters, which are known as Cytomegla viruses. These viruses range from chicken pox to herpes. Instead of warts, they cause blisters that look like little ulcers that hurt. These ulcerated blisters tend to heal on their own terms but remain dormant when the immune system is healthy. Ever notice when you don't eat right and are under stress you get a cold sore or a mouth blister? Pay attention to your body and eat right and learn to relaxe under stress. What causes the cancer or any cancer for that matter? Well, it may come as a surprise to you that all humans, even before we were born in our mother's womb, average about 65,000 cancer cells daily. So, techically, we all have cancer. What makes one person develop a tumor and have it become life threatening versus another who does not? It's the immune system. Not the virus. If the immune system is not functioning properly in its ability to recognize mutated cancer cells, it will allow the cancer to grow unchecked. So, regardless if you have a papilloma virus or a herpes virus or any kind of virus... If your not eating the proper raw fruits and vegetables each and every day that are proven to gobble up cancer and help cells recognize and fight cancer cells... Then, you are increasing your cancer risk with junk foods that cause oxidative stress to your cells. No vaccination has ever, in the history of any human civilization, has stopped cancer. There is no study in the entire planet earth, that gardisil will prevent uterine cancer. FYI, did you know that obesity increases cancer risk? Why. Because fat cells hold onto toxins. So, eat right, exercise, and get screened for cancers if your insurance covers it.

That's bull! If that was the case millions more people would have cancer. People don't know exactly what causes certain types of cancer so they blame everything that they don't understand. You should not shake the powder because it flies up in the air and baby can breath it in, but they have a roll-on powder now that works great.

I have heard and been told not to use powder in the genital region of girls because of possible cervical cancer. Somewhere there is something out there stating that cervical cancer is linked with the use of baby powder.

I am not sure if this is true but I will not use powder on my little girl if I ever have one.

I don't know about cancer but a lot of states don't allow talcum powder in child care because it's such a fine particle and gets into the lungs which can cause problems.

Never heard of that. I have 2 kids that I used to put baby powder on after bath and no one, not even their pediatrician, said anything like that. It's probably an old wives tale.

That is stupid! Your daughter is not going to get cancer from powder. I think it is a load of crap. If powder caused cancer the world media would have it splashed on every paper from here to the moon.

I haven't heard that, but I learned in my birthing class not to use powder because they can inhale the dust and can't cough it up. The dust will stay in their lungs. Whether it causes cancer, I don't know. If you change your baby regularly and use disposable diapers, then you shouldn't need to use powder. The disposable diapers now have so much absorbing materials to keep your baby's bottom dry.

That seems a load of baloney to me !!!

I would not know one, responsible midwife who would make such a sweeping and stupid statement .

Enjoy your baby , keep him clean (powdered ) and well fed !
Use your instinct and listen to other Mums .

You cannot give your baby cancer by using good Baby powder on his bottom .

hugs
