On job applications, most companies ask for your Qualifications, what happens if you put something different down than what you got originally and do they actually find out your original Qualifications and how do they find out?????

Its best not to lie. People don't necessarily check but if they did find out about it they would have grounds to get rid of you. Sometimes companies ask to see certificates also.

When you are invited to interview they usually ask you to bring copies of your qualification certificates with you as proof. They usually don't ask to look at them however at that stage. When they employ you, they might need to see them at which stage you would be found out if you lied and they would choose someone else for the job. If you were found out later, they probably wouldn't sack you but they may well give you a porr reference implying that you have a reputation for lying which won't go down well.

Don't lie on application forms, it causes confusion for everyone and you might get a bad reputation and find it hard to get a job in the future.

MOST potential employers now CHECK the references or qualifications from your application -- so be truthful. Skills needed now are different from skills of 10 years ago -- and they will CALL your previous Employers, look at your Diplomas, Degrees, Certifications, etc etc etc. So YOUR best bet is to be honest and not embellish on your application.

You falsified information on your application, this is likely to be classed as Gross misconduct, which is grounds for instant dismissal.

Why would you want to deliberatly deceive an employer.

Even a little lie like that throws EVERYTHING you said at application and interview into doubt.

Dont lie to start with. It is not worth it.

Well, they can call the organizations where you're supposed to have gotten those qualifications - educational institution, previous employers... If you think you can get away with it (like, a company that no longer exists, etc.)... you might. But generally when you tell white lies on your CV, make sure to make them consistent with verifiable facts.

Most companies will ask for the original certificates before you start. Lying is not a good idea. they camn terminate your employment and it can appear in a future reference too!

Remember at the day of the interview you have to go with your original documents and still you will need to display your identity cards of the institutions from where you qualified from.

dont know how they would find out but it can happen

if you are employed and it is later found you delibertly lied on your application form/letter/interview i believe they can instantly sack you and there would be nothing you could do about it.

if you are applying for a job dont even think about that sort of lie

if you have told this sort of lie and now have a job because of it you had better hope they dont find out

Don't lie or exaggerate on your application. You can get caught and fired. Or you could be hired and be unqualified for the job adn then get canned anyway.

many applications have you signed at the end stating that the application is 'complete, accurate, and true' and provides a penalty if not.
