CONTINUATION OF CHILD SUPPORT BEYOND 18TH BIRTHDAY: Child support ends when kids turn 18 unless the child is still attending high school – in which case support may be extended to the age of 19. (71) After that, child support terminates in ALL cases. (72) There are ways, however, to have money continue to flow to support children beyond their 19th birthday even if they will not attend college. (73) For example, where a child suffers educational and learning disabilities, Illinois law (74) permits support to continue beyond the age of majority. If you’re facing a situation where support may have to continue after a child’s 18th or 19th birthday, talk to one of our lawyers who is familiar with the cases, (75) because the courts can consider a great many factors in making such determinations.

Usually its 18 if child graduates before they are 18 or graduation and no later than 19 1/2 if they are still in high school. Check the court documents and with the child support authorities in IL to be sure.

Hi, I am 19 and am from IL. I received death benefits because of my mom, until the day I graduated from high school... which was months after I had turned 18.

However now the bastards are saying they overpaid me, so watch out because they're pretty bad about 'overpaying' you and then demanding money back.

Have a good day!

The law may not have anything to do with it. check the terms and conditions of your agreement. Most terms are until the age of 18 or until the child finishes high school, whichever comes first. To a maximum of age of course..

PEOPLE WHHO LOOK FOR EXCUSES TO FINANCIALLY ABANDON THEIR CHILDREN MAKE ME SICK. WHY ARE YOU LOOKING TO GET OUT OF SUPPORTING A CHILD THAT IS STILL IN SCHOOL ? UNLESS THE KID IS NOT STUDYING , OR NOT DOING WHAT HE./SHE OUGHT TO BE DOING, WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT ? LOTS OF KIDS TURN 18 BEFORE THEY GRADUATE. WHILE YOU'RE CHECKING THE LAW, MAYBE YOU OUGHT TO CHECK OUT YOUR PRIORITIES TOO ! NOT ONLY DID MY CHILDREN'S FATHER AGREE TO SUPPORT THEM THROUGH SCHOOL , HE ALSO AGREED TO PAY HALF OF ALL COLLEGE EXPENSES THAT THE CHILDREN DIDN'T PAY THEMSELVES. (LOANS, SCHOLARSHIPS, ETC.), JUST BECAUSE YOU AND THE OTHER PARENT GO YOUR SEPARATE WAYS YOU DON'T GET A PASS ON YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A PARENT ! !

I believe it depends only on age, not whether graduated or not.
