Good Q and it brings up a theory I just had crash into my head.
In spam blocking, we are often offered the option of using keywords in order to block unwanted mail,,,for example.
If I don't wish to be solicited I can add keywords to a block of them, saved, such as Sell, Sex, Real estate, Get rich, etc etc etc.
What if,,,,, The spammers know this as well, and intentionally "speel werds wrawng",,, just to get through our particular spam blockers? It's possible?
I can't judge them as retarded strictly, but certainly they use time that could be better spent.

Spammers are not stupid or immigrants that can't speak english. The misspellings are only there to fool spam blockers. There is a whole science behind how to fool the algorithms that decide if something is spam or not.

Spammers can spell just fine. They pourposely misspell words so they can get past spam blockers. The word Vi iagra for instance will be blocked by most every spam blocker...

Most spam filters pick up search strings like "buy" and "sell" and spelling wrong would bypass these filters and get the spam safely delivered to your inbox.
Quite smart actually.
