Ok, not what you think... for ONE day. Here's the situation, we both graduated, but he's staying at the same school for grad school, while I'm going elsewhere. I'm heading off to my school in a month, and he'll be in classes already by then, but I'll pass by our "old" school. Obviously, I want to hang out with him. BUT last year, he's been spending a lot of time with his girlfriend, which is normal, that we never really had a guys night out (i'm dead serious). I'm only planning on spending one night at my old school, at his place, then off to my new school. Do i have a right to ask him not to see his girlfriend for one night, for a guys' night out? I swear, if I don't say anything, his girlfriend will come over, and he'll pretend i'm not even there.

yes, tell him you want to kick it alone one last time before you take off. Make sure and put this notion to him BEFORE the day of, or else you might part ways with bad blood caused by his girlfriend being offended and throwing a fit.

Yeah, you have the right to ask that he not see his girlfriend for one night so you two can spend some time together. But just because you ask doesn't mean it will take place. Just explain that this is probably last time you will spend together before go else where. Just explain and it should work and if not good luck anyway.

I wouldn't really call it a "right" to ask him not to see his girlfriend, but you can let him know how important it is to him that you spend a day together before you go off to grad school. You can ask him to respect that wish. But you need to be prepared to deal with the consequences. He might not do it. He might ask her to come over. State what you want and be prepared for whatever happens. It might be time for you to find a new best friend. Good luck in grad school.

There is nothing wrong with asking for a guys night out. You kind of have to be straight forward you know. Just inform him that you will only be in town for one night and just want to have a guys night out. Also state I like your girlfriend and all but I kind of wanted it to be just the boys. He should respect that. He will have plenty of opportunity to see his girlfriend and you are only there one night. As a buddy he should respect that and also put you as a priority. His girlfriend should understand that and give him space as well.

I don't think you have a right - but you can make the suggestion, make it clear how important it is to you, and let him make the decision.

I think that you should sit down and talk to him about how you're feeling, cause if you say that he's your bestfriend, then he's suppose to understand you, right?
