Sounds as if you need to do a complete Health & Safety audit. There is no place REPEAT NO PLACE that is completely safe from injury or danger.
Some examples: The gymnasium - each and every piece of equipment is capable of causing injury if used inappropriately.
School Playground: What surface does this have? If some-one fell would they graze their hands, knees etc?
Classroom: In my day we had lift-up desk drawers. It was always possible to catch one's fingers if the drawer was slammed down.
Wooden chairs with runners and support struts - these could be (and sometimes were) used as a weapon or if broken off would sometimes leave the chair in an unuseable condition.
Blackboards: (Yes we had blackboards) and the wooden block rubbers. One particular teacher was a dead eye shot with this when he hurled it at you (in the days when corporal punishment was still legal)
Science laboratories - everything in there is capable of causing damage and/or injury - glass vials, bunsen burners jars of combustible chemicals, Acids, Alkalis
The list of potential dangers is infinite.

Greetings!
One thing that might be really helpful: see if your library has a copy of the American Red Cross Health and Safety workbook, or something similar. There might be a checklist in there on "making your home safe from hazards".
You could probably modify this for school use. And it'd be a lot easier to cite in your bibliography list.
Hint: Why not ask your school nurse (if you have one), or write a note to your assistant principal (as a starting point), asking if you can get any information on accidents that have occurred in the past year at your school? Lots of workplaces have to keep records, for OSHA or insurance purposes. This might give you some useful help.
Good luck!

I had a work placement in a nursery/school and I noticed that the main place where the children got hurt were in the playground as they are quite clumsy and can easily fall over. Also children tend to fight one another over toys etc because they don't understand the word share! Not sure, but schools are now changing the outside concrete to astro-turf as its a lot safer! Hope this helps.

Depending on where you are from (Georgia or Texas wouldn't apply here), the most amount of injuries at my school came from slipping on the ice going into school. I live south of Buffalo, NY and school was never canceled, even if we got a foot of snow from 3-6 am (really fast and the roads weren't able to be cleared well). What would happen is that people would slip on the ice coming into school, even though they sanded, and then on all of the melted snow from our shoes in the hallways at school. They were granite, so it hurt like heck when you fell.

H.P.E. homework is a waste of space! BUT i'm nice so i'll tell you some places: pool, playground, behind the bikesheds.... staff room if the teachers are crooked.
Shouldn't you do your own homework? Lazy g*t.

Playground (especially bumped heads), stairs , doors (closing on fingers, swimming pools, PE equipment, science labs, cloakrooms (knocks on pegs), classrooms (tripping over furniture), basically anywhere. Check your Health & Safety Committee minutes, they must review the accident/incident book and carry out an audit termly and this will identify areas of risk in your school.

You won't learn if you don't do it yourself. Just think about it, picture yourself in the school and then use your imagination about what accidents might happen. You'll be surprised how many places are dangerous and you'll feel really proud of yourself for working it out yourself.
