There are many analog-to-digital converters out there.
Some work better than others.

Not being a PC person (I'm a Mac user), but having some background in computers, you'll probably need a video card if you don't already have one installed.
Matrox is one brand that seems to have a good rep (but I've not used one).

If you have a good computer store (CompUSA, for example), go talk with them about what you might need.
Be sure to bring your computer stats (RAM size, Firewire inputs, processor speed, etc) with you.

You need some form of video card with connections for an analogue video camera (RGB connections) and then you can transfer to your PC, then onto DVD via some video software

I use a product from Adaptect called Videoh. It is an external, USB device that captures analog video and produces MPEG output that can be made into a DVD. It runs about $150. In addition to this, you will probably want to get some sort of video editor (Videoh comes with a basic one) and software to burn the DVD.

You need to convert it from analogue to digital. There is software available but you are better off buying a cheep DVD recorder. It is cheaper in the long run.

There are types of cards you can put in your system that take the standard video cable as input. Im sure you could find an adapter out there somewhere that acts as an external processor.

Look for a PCI RCA Input Card
