You didn't give much info to go by. How would you sell the scrapbooking items?(internet, come to your house, magazines)
Its never good to go into any business without first knowing your products and your customer base. Scrapbooking is a big business. Do your research. You have a computer use it. Go to scrapbooking classes to get a feel for it. Just because you can sell your products for much lower doesn't mean you always should. Get some books on scrapbooking and business. Don't rush into a business because you think you can. Know what your doing. A lot of good ideas fail and alot of bad ideas prosper.
Just do your homework. Hope everything works out for you.

Scrapbooking is very popular these days and those items do sell well. The only thing is you would be competing with the big chain hobby places. Would this be a walk-in store, or would you be selling via the internet? I do think you need to start investigating it and learn as much as you can.....so you will know what to stock, what's currently "hot" and what people are looking for, etc.

Scrapbooking may look like a hobby a bored housewife might indulge in, but apparently it is big business. A study conducted by Creating Keepsakes magazine in 2004 called “Scrapbooking in America”™ (SIA) survey http://www.simplescrapbooksmag.com/press/details.ihtml?content_id=454676471 showed :

- Annual sales of scrapbooking industry is at $2.551 billion, representing a 27.8 percent increase from 2001.
- There are 4.4 million new scrapbooking households since 2001, for a total of over 26 million households and 32.1 million scrapbookers.
- Spending on scrapbooking supplies by households that scrapbook has increased 6.3 percent to $96.76 annually since 2001.
- Almost one in four, or 24.5 percent of U.S. households, participate in the hobby of scrapbooking, with Western states showing the most households involved in the hobby (between 26–31 percent of households).
- If you can creatively design papers or scrapbook materials, this is one potentially lucrative business that you can consider.

"If its a home Scrap booking system it would not require much finance so i would recommend you to start off in a small way and check the respose"

If you are selling a product you should know everything about the product so in a friendly tone at least speak with any of the store guys and have more understanding of the product

Understand the benefit : you are investing your precious time and if you have a better option then please thing about it

Decide a selling point and then start marketing with pamphlets, simply by giving it to the local newspaper agency this would cost you around Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1500 depending on the no. of pamphlets you distribute and the quality of pamphlets
(you can create your own pamphlet in Coreldraw if required or simply in word: microsoft office)

Be carefull with this if you are operating from home since it would be considered as commercial location and you would be charged a comparitively high maintanence fees, if you have a small place then try taking advance orders from friend and also try network marketing

Do not start on a heavy scale and always try to be nice and friendly with your customers... please follow busines ethics if required

Please try selling this to new stores in bulk considering there profit margins..
do not reveal business secret to anyone
