I am 15 years old and i am getting charged with complicity to attempted theft. I was with my boyfriend while he tried to steal a car from somebody. Can the felony 5 charge, complicity to attempted theft, be reduce to anything lower so i wont have a felony? i have an attorney but he has yet to come and speak with me.

Keep calm and ask your attorney. He'll know more than people on here.

Be truthful with him, let him know everything (he'll probably ask you whether you knew your boyfriend was going to steal the car) your attorney will be the one best placed to know what to tell the court.

Oh! And get yourself another boyfriend. I know your just having fun, but "playing" is a way to find out about life. Your boyfriend is basically a test-it-out life partner and for a life partner you need someone who is going to look after you, getting you stuck on a felony 5 rap is NOT looking after you.

if you did aid or abet your boyfriend in trying to steal the car you can ask your attorney to try and get the charge amended to to complicity to attempted theft without specifying an automobile (which is probably why it is afelony, because it was a car) just complicity to attempted theft without specifying the car should make it a misdemeanor. good luck.

Thats up to your lawyer and the district attorney.

If its your first offense, you will probably be offered a plea bargain on a lesser charge, which may or may not be a felony. Ask your lawyer about it.

You'll get off as a juvenile. but you'd better find another boyfriend.
