I don't know about the longest song but the longest song title is by the Swedish group Rednex titled:
"The Sad But True Story Of Ray Mingus, The Lumberjack Of Bulk Rock City, And His Never Slacking Stribe In Exploiting The So Far Undiscovered Areas Of The Intention To Bodily Intercourse From The Opposite Species Of His Kind, During Intake Of All The Mental Condition That Could Be Derived From Fermentation"

In-a-gadda-da-vida (1968)
In the late 60s there once was a Rock 'n Roll band called Iron Butterfly. Their one claim to fame was the longest rock song ever written, in the middle of which was the longest drum solo ever drummed. This longest of songs also had some of the shortest of lyrics including that most incomprehensible of words which was also the song's title. But the thing was mesmerizing to Heavy Metal fans of that generation and can, even today, send those old stoners into a trance if it should happen to drift out of the ether on the carrier wave of some oldies station in the wee hours of the night. This, of course, rarely happens any more since 21st century radio has not the patience for a song that lasts longer than a Fox sitcom. And, besides, anyone who ever actually owned the album is now over 50 and can barely stay up for Letterman's monologue these days much less late, late night radio. But in 1968 this one album sold eight million copies and spent an astonishing 140 weeks on the charts over the next three years. It was the first, ever, platinum record and in one year outsold all other recorded music in the history of the world from Mozart to Elvis. To date there have been more than 25 million copies of this one album sold worldwide. And it did it with these lyrics.
"In-a-gadda-da-vida, baby,
means that I love you."
There were three other lines in the song, if memory serves, but that one was the only one that really counted. Seven words stretched over 19 minutes sung against the endless strain of a raspy Fender guitar in the background.
da, da
da, da, da, da

Hmmm. I guess you had to be there.

well in the 70's it was quite usual to make single songs which lasted for 12 to 15 minutes...
for example
bohemian rapsody - queen
worn down piano - Mark & clark band
angie - rolling stones
paradise by the dashboard light - meatloaf
and genesis also made some real long ones .. during 70's , 80's and 90's
the last domino
driving the last spike
