Could be... you ovulate whenever your body feels like it. Most women its the same time every month, but anything can throw that off whack. And besides that, the 14 day ovulation thing is just an average, and that doesnt mean anything, since peoples bodies cannot be molded into averages.
All that matters is everything is fine and you're due to have a baby here soon... if you've been pregnant since feb.
They measure the fetus, and thats how they calculate how old it is. But each fetus and each woman develops differently, so what might have started out as an 8 week fetus at the first ulstrasound, might look like a 16 week fetus 5 weeks later... its just an average they use to decide how developed the baby is.

When you say it started again on Jan. 29th, was it very light, a normal flow,? Sonograms are very accurate. BUT, if you know that you were pregnant throughout the month of Jan. from a pregnancy test, then I would go by the due date from your knowledge. Both of my ultrasounds were wrong with my children. But that was in the 80's. Good luck.

if you are asking because the sonogram determined the due date- you should know that the sonogram measures various parts of the baby and compares it with data of how quickly a fetus grows. this then determines the age and thus conception of the baby. Yes of course errors could be made. for example, you may have a fast or slower growing baby which would attribute to an off day. typically though it is pretty accurate to within a few days, which is why doctors use it as a measure of pregnancy.
they will likely follow your pregnancy to verify the due date, but you should trust what they tell you.
you should also relax. congratulations.

My LMP was Jan 6th also ... when I had an ultrasound at 22 wks (according to my LMP) the doc did 2 measurments. One said I was 24w6 and the other was 23wks. Even taking into account 2 wks for ovulation .. the dates were still off. The 24w6d date was off by over 2 weeks!!! So they can be wrong. Very wrong,

They could be wrong or it could be right based on the short length between periods....i know that when i was pregnant they changed my due date about 5 times..and all along i knew the date i conceived and when i should be due around...come to find out I was the one who was right and not them! It wasnt till I was almost in my 7th month that they picked a due date closer to what I had thought it would be.

They go by your monthly cycle and the measurements of the baby. They can be off by a week or two but they are usually pretty accurate.

They are pretty accurate, but not 100%.
They first told my sister her due date was 8-27-06 and now they're trying to change it to 8-31-06. So who knows!
Good Luck!

They are pretty accurate. They will measure everything. We wern't so sure when we concieved but they told us that our baby measured 6 days bigger then the due date. Towards the end they will measure your stomach also. But you could give birth before or after your due date. The baby will come when he or she feels like it.
