A very moving romance film
The movie focuses on an old man reading a story to an old woman in a nursing home. The story he reads follows two young lovers named Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun, who meet one evening at a carnival. But they are separated by Allie's parents who dissaprove of Noah's unwealthy family, and move Allie away.
After waiting for Noah to write her for several years, Allie meets and gets engaged to a handsome young soldier named Lon. Allie, then, with her love for Noah still alive, stops by Noah's 200-year-old home that he restored for her, "to see if he's okay". It is evident that they still have feelings for each other, and Allie has to choose between her fiancé and her first love.

It's a frame story. The fram within the frame is about a man and woman who love eachother deeply anf truly but because of socioeconomic differences, they have problems being together. The outside story is an old man telling an old woman--both are in a home--the story of the young couple. I don't want to give away the surprise but it's a great movie.

dukalink6000 covered it all. It's a very romantic movie about two lovers. It's based on the book written by Nicholas Sparks, who is the BEST romance novelist ever. All his stories make me cry. He also wrote books to Message in a Bottle with Kevin Costner, and A Walk to Remember with Mandy Moore and Shane West.

It's about a old lady who has altztimers (is that how you spell it) and this one man is old too and he used to be her boyfriend and she doesn't remember so he tells her stories about the stuff they did and the great times they had but i cant tell you the end other wise it will spoil it.
