Unless there is some other "irregular" possibility (created by exchanging the vowel "e" for some other vowel) it would be texted. But I agree, that's a horrible sounding word and "text" should never have been made a verb. "Re-districting" is one that makes me cringe. It's supposed to mean dividing a geopolitical area into different subsections than it already is.

According to the online version of the Oxford English Dictionary
(available through some libraries), there has been a verb "text" since
the 1500s, with a past tense of "texted" or "tex'd." The current
meaning of "to send a text message" was accepted by the OED in its
draft additions of June 2004, and include the example of "texted."

Both are correct for your first example.
For the last example, the middle word is not right.
"Texted" is a verb. Although it may look and sometimes sound funny, it is grammatically correct.

New verbs are typical into the language as conventional verbs, so the previous demanding might desire to be "texted". curiously the yankee heritage Dictionary has already typical "textual content textile" as a verb, no person else seems to have.

I don't like it either, so how about "tm'd'...
"I just tm'd him about the past tense of "text". from my tenth tent, where it was getting kind of tense."
(I don't like to "tm" from any of the other 9 tents)
