They are sentsitive people who can easily feel things and be inspired to write some poems... They are expressive and deep-thinkers, serious, loners, some romantic... They may be suffering from some anxieties and past troubles and one way to get by is a little help from a pen and paper, their bestfriends...

I have always viewed people who write poetry as ones who are very 'deep'. Typically, I think they are not shallow people (in that they do not care about who said what, how many people are on their phone list, etc... I hope that is a good explanation). Poets seem to look at a situation from an entirely different point of view than most individuals.

It depends on the person. I respect the people who write poetry well and are doing it for the right reasons. But those angsty teen types who write crappy poetry about their life being a "black abyss" and about being hopeless and other stuff when their life is actually perfectly fine and they have no problems, I could do without them. Luckily I'm not forced to read that poetry in english class.

i'll make certain, hear, study, or imagine of something, an concept varieties, then a narrative seems in my innovations, very like a video. after I end observing the video, I placed it on paper. regularly I purely edit simply by typos or another stupid reason I placed words the position i did not intend them to be. The poem regularly varieties in my innovations one or 2 lines at a time, and that is how they're placed down. at the same time as in a mood like this, i'll have a tendency to imagine in rhyme, and both in ballad stanza or tetrameter couplets, and the most important difficulty I bump into is to keep it consistent and turn backward and forward. in some circumstances after reading it aloud i'll rearrange words or replace something, yet hardly. perchance if I did, i ought to get more effective constructive. Edit: i don't believe of what I write is all that sturdy, and am proud that others like it slightly.

It all depends. Generally, there are people who write poetry to be cool, and there are people who write poetry because they can't hold their feelings inside, and there are people who will really be inspired and learn the technique, and do very high-quality stuff.
I dislike the first category.
The second category is OK, as long as they don't force their poems on other people (like, by publishing them).
The third category has some really amazing achievements. But _both_ inspiration and technique are required to be there. Like, 10 % inspiration, 90% perspiration...

Depends on the poetry, I dislike "hate, goth-type" poetry. But I love most poetry that touches the soul.
I would think that person was probably a very sensitive person more in touch with their feelings.

I think they're a certain type of person - one in a million actually DOES write poetry, the other 999,999 write either a load of sentimental clap-trap or stuff that's got a bloody nerve to call itself by that name.

Most 'poets' I have met are pretentious. I'm sure theres some lovely ones out there but all the one's I have met seem to think they're the Dalai Lama, therefore I tend not to get on.

People who write poetry are thoughtful, observant, intelligent, worriers who are prone to depression. Even the ones who write amusing limericks.
