the make is Bosch exxcel , maxxi. Model SG343502gb/35. Have gone the route of cleaning and checking that the spray blade is not obsructed, when flicked by hand it turns freely,how can I check further down in machine for any blockage

Wow. I have the SAME dishawasher and HAD the same problem.I found out that there is a prescreen filter,where the supply hose,screws in.It is in the front (behind the kick panel).Turn off the water source and unscrew this hose.Pull it out and you will see a little orange/blue screen.It was totally clogged with sediment.I ended up just removing the thing and has worked fine since.I have had the dishwasher for over 2 years now.Did you install it? There are tricky units.They have a channel underneath the unit that the lines have to go throug.Make sure you do not have a pinched line.Use stainless steel supply lines too!

Make sure that the spray bar holes are not clogged with foreign matter.
It`s the holes in the spray bar that the water jets out of to spin the bar.

sounds like the timer for the cycle may be shot. You can look in owners manual for part and location of

Start with water pump(it is in the bottom)make sure your bottom(drains) is clean(the pump recirculates the water)
