i have been struggling with infertility for 4 yrs and went through ovarian cancer treatments 2 yrs ago. i got clearance from all docs, and we want to do in vitro. due to the cost, we only have 1 shot. i am overweight, will this cause the in vitro to not work? do i have to get all the way down to my "healthy weight" ? how much is enough?

Well, i went thru menopause after chemo, and about 6 months ago, everything started working again. so my doc is afraid that if i wait too long to have a baby, it might stop working again for good and i will miss my chance of having one. i'm only 29, so i was thinking i had a while, but i guess with my situation, it's different. that's why i wanted kind of a crash diet to speed things up a bit.

YES, If you want to take this seriously, and you are over weight then you have got to be healthy. BUT you have to do it the right way, no diet pills or fad diets you have to go on a sensible diet plan and exercise, it's a must if you want this to work
Good luck and God bless

Hon I am in the same boat as you are I am overweight too and I have been trying to concieve for over 7 years, but unfortunately invitro is not a possibility for me. But I have been advised by my doctors even when I get pregnant actually before i get pregnant to loose some weight. So, it would be a good idea if not for you but for your baby to be. If you would like to chat more back and forth email me. I hope things work out for you.

It depends on how much over your body weight should be. If you are 50 or more pounds overweight you run a risk of developing Gestational Diabetes, which can put your pregnancy at risk. Talk to your doctor.

Get your IVF-invitro fertilization treatment in India .IVF treatment ,IUI,ICSI and Laparoscopic surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges all types of medical treatment andsurgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as some of the surgery including ivf treatment is not covered by insurance.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your IVF treatment can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The doctors are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.I recently also read about a chinese couple facilitated by forerunners healthcare were able to get their baby by IVF and a surrogate mother.

my cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the forerunners healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full treatment for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.I strongly recommend this company to you as they can be of great help to you.hope this helps
