I used to have tabs on the bottom of my Messenger panel. One of the tabs told me how many of my "friends" were

How may were on line, how many emails I had, a tab for weather, a tab for sports, etc What happened to that Yahoo messenger setup ???

You still have them but need to add the plug-ins from the resource you have on the bottom left.You have a bunch of them out of which you can pick and choose which all plug-ins you would like to see by default.This is a flexibility given in the latest version of messenger.
