I like to cook, but I like to go out to eat when I need a break from cooking.

If I have the time I love cooking it's just the washing up after so most times I will opt to eat out but prefer home cooked, There's something special about cooking for say a date yourself that going out to eat can't match.

I like to cook. Going out to eat is so much easier though. During the work week I hate to cook. So I would have to say going out to eat.

cook at home. I'm a fair hand in the kitchen, but it's more the fact that home cooking is healthier for you,not as many flavor inhancers or seasonings, and we are able to control the portions we eat better at home than in a resturant. Let's face it, they really pile the food on your plate, and it's hard to not give it your all to finish the meal (I'm a member of the clean plate club). Also, to me, it's easier because I would rather wait until we get home than making an extra trip, and I'm not real patient when it comes to standing in line or waiting for something. Things are cooked the way I like them, without having to depend on a stranger to get it right, and I don't have to worry about someone spitting in my food (or worse) if I send it back for some reason.

Go out to eat, unless someone else is cooking.

I like to cook. It is easier to control ingredients, fat content, and portions.
It is also more satisfying when you know you have cooked a good home-made meal. It also opens the door for experimentation.
For an example, putting seasoned burrito meat in an oriental flavored ramen noodle mix.

Cook?
I do not cook.
I have people to do that for me.
(um, I have a very nice husband who makes lovely meals regularly!).
I'd rather go out to eat than cook for myself. I'd have to be in real danger of food poisoning by eating in a crummy cafe to NOT prefer it.
