what is and why would a student be put in a title one program?

My son was in Title One in his elementary school.

It is a good program. If your child is struggling with reading and comprehension, that is a tutoring program of sorts to give them help in that area, the children are usually divided into groups of 3 or 4 and have an instructor with each group.

It helped my son, he is now above his grade level on reading.

Also, what helps, is to get your child to read things that interest them. My son got hooked on comic books, and his reading ability soared

Good program that can individualize learning for the student struggling with reading.....helps with motivation.....

I think its for kids who have trouble reading, or do it slowly, so they can catch up with the rest of the group.
