Normally, flying means of freedom, free of control. It is show of happiness. However in your case...
Flying could mean some sort of burden for you.
Can't pickup your child = burden you feel.
You projected ability to fly. That shows you are free from control. However, you were not able to pick up your child. That literally means there is some anxiety in you. You may be into some stress that you may or may not know of. As you said, you are a single parent. That may also contribute the reason why you dream of flying.

A dream of flying is a wonderful experience, isn't it? What it means is... you are. You are literally flying in the Astral realm, or the next vibrational realm of reality that exists within each of us.
Flying while asleep also indicates an elevated level of consciousness, and this indicates an elevated level of Spiritual evolution...over which one has little say.
The fact that your flight is suspended while in contact with your daughter is a tough reality to embrace... because it is telling you that your flight [the long journey back to God] is a personal flight, and that our emotional attachments to others holds us down.
In a worldly sense, the idea of attachment is a positive thing...but in a purely Spiritual sense, such attachment, although natural, is also a drag upon ones own evolution. Being in the world, but not of it, is a saying that is quite old, and quite true.
Shakespeare said that the world is a stage, and it is. And we are all players in an illusion that seems very real. But the higher reality is that each of us is quite alone.... except for God. Our true attachment should be for God, and for the world we do our duty as duty, and feign attachment while never forgetting that the only attachment that brings salvation is the one we have to God.

Being a single parent and the sole provider of a child is a heavy burden. Its not easy. But you keep RISING to the task.

Perhaps that you miss some of the freedoms of being single without kids.
Also as a parent, it's possible that you will want good things for your child that are totally out of your hands. There is, after all, only so much you can control in your child's life.

I am not an expert but I would interpret this to mean the need of total freedom.
