This is a result of the drop in barometric pressure before precipitation. And it's not a myth because I had some very serious surgeies last year and it happens.I was also advised by my doctors not to travel by plane for a year because of a possible drop in cabin pressure during the flight.

It's the change in the pressure I never had surgery but have an old knee injury that when it's going to rain or there is a drastic change in the pressure it will hurt like a mother.

Yes, it's very true. When it's about to rain the atmospheric pressure usually drops and that changfe in pressure can frequently be felt in scar tissue or in the synovial pressure in joints (especially if the joint has been irritated by something such as prior surgery, arthritis, etc.)

Sudden changes in barometric pressure can cause problems to people with arthritis, fibromyalgia or migraines so people with those conditions are usually aware when it's about to rain.

Often, people who've had knee surgery or a surgery like that have either had arthritis or get arthritis and it is one of the conditions that acutely reacts to changes in the weather and humidity.

As a migraine sufferer who has been through a year of testing to determine what triggers my migraines, I can tell you that changes in barometric pressure is a very real trigger for many people. For me, it's the only thing that brings them on.

Maybe the pressure of the rain, did you ever turn on the weather station and see that the pressure is going up or down? That's why when it rains there is more pressure than usual.

It's due to change in the air pressure affecting sensitive areas in the body that are healing from surgery.
