Has anyone had plastic surgery and what was your experience?

Here is why I want plastic surgery:
God gave me big boobs and my son sucked the life out of them when I nursed him. I worked my little tail off to get back into shape, but all the crunches and aerobics classes won't bring back my boobs! And I have a deviated septum so I would like to get that fixed so I can breath better.

Besides, how is it much different than getting braces?! I know it's surgery but you are still altering your body. Just my opinion- what do you think?

In this case, I'd say you have justified reasons for wanting surgery. To me, plastic surgery is a last resort; something you choose when everything else hasn't had any effect. I dislike it when people who are morbidly obese decide to get liposuction or gastric bypass FIRST, before trying to lose the weight through proper eating and exercise.

For you, you've exercised and, from what it sounds like, eaten well to work off the extra weight from pregnancy. The only real way to fix a sagging breast is with a breast lift, so wanting one is understandable. With the deviated septum, your reasons for wanting surgery are also perfectly warranted - you want to be able to breathe!

My advice to you would be to search for the best plastic surgeon you can find. Do your research and go to a few consultations before settling on the surgeon. After that, I'd say save up your money and go for it! As someone else mentioned, beware of the addictive nature of plastic surgery, and make sure that you're happy with your body. Good luck!

All plastic surgery is for the vain and insecure- unless it enables you to survive. (i.e. skin graphs) God gave you boobs, yes and he also gave you a wonderful son which some people can't ever have. Be thankful for what you have. Be happy you aren't deformed in any way. You have lived your full life being able to breathe so the deviated septum ploy I don't buy. Buy a better bra and suck it up! Your body will never be the same- you had another human being inside of you- of course your body is different!

I think if it is for a medical reason...bleph surgery to improve vision, your deviated septum, breast reduction due to back problems, or reconstructive to make you the same as you were before...as in an accident or mastectomy, then there is nothing wrong with it. As in getting breast enlargement just to look like everyone else, I believe God made us the way we are for a reason.
I have actually thought about getting that surgery in the past, but was convicted by God that it was not the right thing for me to do.

*Wiggles nose.* I'm generally opposed to the idea of plastic surgery on principle- it perpetuates the obsession people have with their looks rather than learning to be happy with what they were given. There are much more valuable and long-lasting traits than beauty. Like, I wonder what happens to the life of the former beauty queen after her tragic car accident...

if it makes you feel better about your self go for it. Don't ever do something for someone else though! but yeah, if you are the one that wants surgery go for it. I got implants and my mom got her nose done at age 50 and she had no complications. If you have the money and are able to take off about 2-3 weeks for recovery (mostly for the nose and swelling) then! yeah!!! go do it girl!

It's your body. You are the only one who can make that decision. It's also the body you will have for the rest of your life, so if you want to fix it, sooner is better than later.

As long as you aren't trying to emulate the actress du jour, do what makes you happy. Right now my body doesn't warrant plastic surgery.
