It is not just the United States. Great Britain had a similar approach of forced ideology during their reign, and so has everyone else that comes into power. The problem with being in power is that you never know when you're going to fall, so you start seeing enemies everywhere.
Before you know it, you're invading other countries and forcing them to live your way, in order to cut off a future war with your equals. It's sad, but it's true.

No one has that is War. You never win by just hitting the guy once and then quitting sometimes you have to knock the crap out of them. Do you think that Hezbollah actuakky won the last round of fighting with Israel? Well from their point of view as long a one guy is sitting on a pile of rubble holding their flag that is a victory and that is exactly the reason you have to knock them flat because they will start to rebuild support and spread lies and try again so you have to really knock them down to the point where the people will blame them for the tragedy of the consquences of going to war won't support them any more. Call it mass murder if you want but sooner or later you will see it;s the only way to win a war with people like Hezbollah or Al Queda etc. Do you think the Japanese are innocent of mass murder in WW2 just ask a Chinese person from Nanking or the Philipines or Korea. You just have to attack the US because you don't like Bush or what the US stands for don't you? Humanist you are not liberal antiAmerican is more like it.

This is world think at it's best, gee why can't we have a war but not kill anybody; utterly amazing !!!. Why is it that what the US did or didn't do is right on the tip of every ones tongue but what the Germans or the Japanese or whoever else did so conveniently slips peoples minds, why? maybe because it would throw a wrench in the whole America is the devil thing, again utterly bleeping amazing!!!, and spare me the whole we're afraid thing too if you don't give us a reason to go after you we won't. Contrary to what everybody has been brainwashed to think we don't like our people getting killed any more than anyone else does.

How in hell would you win it? Maybe you should let foreign policy that has been settled alone. We actually saved lives by using the bombs. If we would have invaded Japan by the conventional means, we would have had (estimated) around a million casualities. The Japanese almost always fought to the death so their casualities would have been in the millions. There are always mass murder situations in a war. If we had lost any of those wars, you (or I) probably would not have the freedom to argue about it.

In 1989, when Manuel Noriega declared a state of war between the U.S. and Panama, and an unarmed U.S. serviceman was killed in Panama by the PDF, Operation Just Cause was initiated. 27,000 U.S. servicemen were sent to Panama to oust the dictator, Manuel Noriega, who was suspected and later convicted of drug smuggling and money laundering. The Americans lost 22 soldiers and 1 marine killed in action. There were approximately 50 Panamanian paramilitary deaths. The number of civilian deaths has been disputed. That number ranges between 200 and more than 1,000. It is believed that the death toll would have been higher had nothing been done.

General Tibbets, who flew the Enola Gay and carried out the orders to drop the bomb on Hiroshima, is the only American who had ever won the Japanese National Peace Prize.
Why?
Japan respects him for making the decisions and following through with the orders that saved more Japanese (and other human) lives than if the war was allowed to continue unchecked.
Isn't it amazing the objectivity that is present when you aren't trying to push your own personal agenda?

How could they have missed an individual as valued as yourself? Ask the average citizen in China about the malevolence and murders they attribute to Japan. Goggle Bataan, research instead of watching T.V.

Killing is the main event in wars, unless you've not been taking notes.. It happens in every single war, in every single country, whether the US is involved or not, but, since we try to hold ourselves to higher standards, when OUR troops mess up, we punish them, when the enemy's troops mess up, they get medals.. and that's because they are barbarians.
Don't like it? Take a flight elsewhere.
Oh, and when you get to that 'better' country, try saying about them, what you say to and about US... see how long you last with your 'ideals' intact.

Yes, I forogt the dates and places but remember the name of the battles. the first was "oh yeah you're right and we won't do that again" and the other one was "I'm sorry, would you pretty pretty please forgive me for my outrageous acts against humanity" and the last one was "am not, you are so, am not, are so, am not" A war without violence, there is a novel concept....
