Get in to it.

Those first rainy days of fall tend to make one more introspective, I think. There is a distinct feel to it. Rain on the window pane, fire in the wood stove, the faint smell of wood smoke on the breeze, the turning of the leaves always leaves me with a sense of melancholy.

Not so much as "the blues", but a comfortable, contemplative state. Where I live this is as close as we get to the change of seasons, and that brings one to make their own changes. All too often this fuzzy feeling lasts not long at all, as well as the fall season, as I grab my snow shovel and head for the driveway.
