well i think the Bruins are hurting in net, i think it was a mistake they got rid of Raycroft. Thomas was just a luck and will have to see how he does.
if Huet for the Habs can shine like he did last year the Habs will be one tough team to beat.
but the Stanley Cup is the hardest Cup to win in any professional sport. and anybody can win. its not about the money like Baseball, American football, Basketball and football (soccer).
the Wings will look ok not as good as last season when the Blues, Bluejackets and Blackhawks were terrible teams and the Wings got most of their points of them they have no goalie Hasek will be out by the holidays. but the Blues and others will be tougher to beat this season then last. Oilers will not make the playoffs this year. the Flames are going to look great with the pick up of Tanguay, that will help them big time and Iginla will have over 50 goals and he might be the top scorer of the year.

I think several teams have a good chance of winning the Cup but I don't think the Bruins are one of them. As much as it kills me to say this I really think the Ducks have a good chance with all the players they have now. Imagine coming across the blue line with the puck and having Scot Neidemeyer and Chris Pronger waiting there for you...scary!!

With all the player movement that took place this summer, I think it will be tough to tell without seeing some of these teams in action.
I think the Hurricanes will be a strong defending champ, but I see the Oilers falling off a little (not that they really had a great year last season until the playoffs). Detroit will again be good, even with a lot of vets retiring.

Personally, I would like to see the Avalanche win the cup, but...
Since I don't think that will happen this year (sniff!) I wouldn't mind at all if your B's got it. I grew up in New Hampshire, so I've always had a soft spot for those guys.
Best moment ever? Ray Bourque lifting the cup in an Avs Jersey! Best of both worlds for me there!

Bruins? They've got a worse team than they did last year. Want a cup winner? It's going to be the Calgary Flames this year. They're the real deal.

Well, it seems that the NHL would like small/struggling market teams to win so that they can boost those markets. I think the NHL would love for Pittsburgh to win, especially given their financial woes. But I'm gonna have to go with Anaheim or Nashville. I really believe their next in line with the NHL's plan. So yeah. I think it's kinda fixed. 02-03 Anaheim VS NJ. 03-4 it was Tampa. 05-06 it's Carolina. See a trend? All struggling Hockey markets.

My choice are the Anaheim Ducks. Not only did their young players gain valuable experience in last year's playoffs, but they added Chris Pronger to bolster their defense.
