I don't know if it does actually do any good - but I sure do try!! I smile at strangers as I pass them, or even speak. I compliment people I don't even know if I see something on or about them that I like. I strike up conversations in the grocery store. I practice random kindness - I've been known to pay the toll of someone coming behind me in traffic. Do any of these things do any good at all? I really don't know. I'd love to think so - I would love to think that in my own way I am making a difference - at least maybe to the people I come into contact with, maybe I did help a little. I've been way down & so sad, only to have my day brightened by someone kind . . . I also know that there are a lot of people who feel threatened by simple acts of kindness - they react in a very negative fashion or completely ignore me. That hurts. Perhaps they are so walled in that they can't see any way out. I don't know. I guess if each one of us were to "be kind" to our fellow man the world COULD be a nicer place - it starts with one person & has to be passed on . . .

Think about it for a minute.......everything you do or say can have a global impact..... you might not notice it, and it might not be fate, but just think about it. You say hi to someone who is having a bad day...it makes that person think about what is truly important. That person remains optimistic instead of pessimistic, and that person says hi to someone else, maybe even holds the door open for someone.... you see, the chain goes on and on. You'll never fully know the extent to which you change the world with just a simple hello, but it is worthwhile. Think about it this way..... every time you say hi, you could be changing the world....how cool is that!?!?!?It's totally true, too -- I live in a small town (a really small town) and i've seen this happen before ... it's an amazing thing to witness. The power of one to affect all!

a smile, it is something that can always be given but never taken back just like hugs/kisses these things affect people in such a positive way I have been told my smile is like sunshine 'cause it lights up my eye's and makes whom-ever I give it to feel incredibly happy and lucky that they have received it....
I can't help it I'm a smiling type person......:)

To always treat people as you would like to be treated, not to moan about how you feel as there is always someone worse off that you.be happy for a person that has recieved good news and not be jealous of them.take time out and do a bit of charity work without looking for a pat on the back for doing so.If we all did one of the above no matter what religious beliefs you (generaly speaking) have ,the world would be a better place

I think it does start with being kind to others. A smile, a "Hi", a surprise good deed like paying the difference when in a grocery line and the person in front of you doesn't have enough money to pay for their groceries. Maybe remembering to use good manners that aren't used much anymore.

I'd like people to stop name-calling. Just that one thing would make a very big and positive change in the world. It would force people to find another way to communicate ... possibly one that would help to decrease anger and increase tolerance.

Smile more, give positive comments to people and don't talk about them behind their backs, visit a nursing home or animal shelter, work in a food pantry, give directions to someone on the road, share experiences.

its very powerful, just think, if you smile at a stranger, the one that received your smile will feel good and in turn smile at the next person he passes, if you multiple that by the hundreds and thousands that have passed your way, then you have made the world a better and happier time, a hundred, thousand, a million times better.
