To me it is incredible the way you american treat people... I would really use stronger words to describe your %&#"&/? actitud but I am not like you. My grandmother, a 85 year old woman (from Spain) was going to be ARRESTED like a criminal when checking in at the airport just because she passed 5 days on her previous trip on and it was because of YOUR FAULT due to pilot strike a couple of years ago. How dare you people to arrest like a criminal a 85 year old woman and deport her???? It is a huge disrespect not just to a woman, to a old person... you people have no values to be racist. How come a police man tell her that she is a latin person breaking amercian law...
Who do you think you are??? God???
What are you so afraid of??? Are you so afraid to arrest a 85 year old woman in wheelchair???

You people are the worst!!!

I feel for you, I know how angry these things can make one. I haven't gone through something like that personally, but I know the effect it can have on someone.
Everyone has got their opinon of America and you are free to say your say, it's your human right.
These things happen everywhere in the world, in my country it's such an everyday thing that it actually "normal". I live in South Africa and here in my country the white people are all classifed as racist. People can be very prejudiced. Racism will never go away... All you can do is fight for your right, they had no right to do to your grandmother as they did, it just shows that they have got no manners, respect or heart.
Good luck.

Let's get this straight: Your grandmother was in the country longer than she told officials when she first came to visit. She checked in at the airport and was going to be arrested and deported even though she was going back to Spain. Does not make sense. But how it it racist? Could not speak for pilot strike. But did she contact the airline regarding the problem? Most likely not. Dumb to almost arrest her? Sure. Racist? You have not proven this.

You sound incredibly angry, but you're taking it out on the wrong people. If you knew your grandmother exceeded her travel time, you should have taken care of business before she reached the airport.

Rather than attack someone who was doing their job, accept responsibility for your culpability...and hers. If, at 85, she is still healthy enough and lucid enough to travel abroad, she knew there was a problem, as well, and should have made it her business to get help to prevent such an occurrence.

There is such a thing as personal responsibility. Accept that and deal with it. Do not start trashing an entire nation of people because of your own shortcomings.

Well Bilbo B---I'm an American and I have to somewhat agree with you. But you have to know that American aren't the only racist in the world. This whole entire planet sucks when it comes down to the color of a person's skin. And when I say the entire planet I'm just speaking of certain individuals who just happen to live in each country, state and city. Because not every individual is a racist. I realize that you are upset about what happened with your grandmother, and I personally being an American would like to extend my apology for what happened to her. So Bilbo B, just slow your roll because in the end sweetie, all of this crap that's going on in the world is truly going be rectified! And it going to be a shame that the good will have to suffer with the evil.

I'm sorry that you Grandmother had a bad experience, however, our country is at war & we must do everything possible to protect our country & it's people.I am an American & have also been delayed at the airport due to the large luggage I carried for my job. It didn't bother me because I had nothing to hide. Yes, it was an inconvenience but nothing more than that. The people who are out to get America will use women, children...anybody to get to us. Haven't you heard about the older women who were to be suicide bombers? Other countries always expect us to help them out during their wars or tragedies, yet when we try to protect our own country & our own people we are called racist. If you hate America...move!!!

Maybe if your grandmother didn't break the law you wouldn't be writing such nonsense. It also seems rather elitist to insist that an entire country's citizens are racist based upon the acts of so few. Try therapy! Apparently it worked for John Hinckley.

Your a moron. File the correct paperwork and go through the proper channels. If her last trip went over you should have filed the paperwork neccesary to get an exemption. You have NO RIGHT to come to the US. It is a privelage that we grant to people. So if you break the rules expect to be treated like a criminal, because that is what you are.

2 things. one, not everyone in America is racist, and plenty other nationalities have racists in them too. when i was in the UK in the 80s, they wouldn't let my friend in with me to the disco because he was Spanish. so racism can happen anywhere. and point 2-this incident doesn't even sound like it involves racism.it sounds like gramma stayed too long on her visa? I'm not sure, i wasn't able to completely follow your question, but it doesn't sound like racism to me.just an unfortunate set of circumstances. believe me, you don't want to do anything wrong at an airport, no matter what country you are from or what color you are. please don't hate an entire country because of one incident in an airport

Would "American" be South American? Or North American? Who are you talking to?

While I have no idea what you are ranting about, if Granny broke a country's law (no idea what country you are dissing), then regardless of her gender, age, race or creed, she's got to pay the price!
