Why do you need that much money?
Take the train, or a cheap flight. Stay in an inexpensive motel, or take a tent and camp. Are you trying to woo her with money? If you don't ordinarily have that kind of money, then don't do it, that would be decieving her and cause more problems than it solves.
Just go inexpensively and have fun!

I can't believe it costs 2k to fly anywhere in the lower 48. Did you try travel sites like expedia orbitz and priceline?
