You need to define your question.
The human eye reacts to light and sees everything within your "field of view". If you require to focus on only one single object, you have to narrow down the peripheral vision of the eye. This can be achieved by holding a piece of card with a small hole pierced in its centre, to your eye whilst closing the other eye. the smaller the hole the narrower your field of view becomes. Of course, looking at far away objects would increase the field.
