Ego manifests itself in many ways. The NWO is comprised of those whose ego drives them to believe they "know best" what the world needs to be OK. This ego drive precludes them from "seeing" in their belief the dangers inherent in attempting to force life to follow a Man-made agenda.

In this effort, they are similar to terrorists save terrorists use methods of force that are more violent. Both believe they have the answers for others... and their belief is ego-driven [which means they unwittingly place their own needs above others.

As for being "taken over", because there has not been a world war for some time, the liberal-type personality has developed throughout the world, especially noticeable in the head-in-the-sand behavior of Europe. It is spreading in America, and if it reaches a majority level, we [those who love liberty sufficiently to fright fof it] could be in danger of being forced into some kind of self-protective confrontation. Every president of united states promises a new world order, so I am not sure what new world order are you talking about here. But if you are implying 'internationalism' then I am for it.

Some of its features should include complete sovereignty of united nations general assembly, no country except united nations should be allowed to raise an army, a representative form of government, and local autonomy.
