no pill is 100% so your best bet is to take it like you are suppose to and make your partner wear a condom too. it will lessen your chances, but neither one of those methods are 100% like i said. the only way to really prevent yourself from getting pregnant is to not have sex at all.

The birth control pill is 95 - 99.9% effective in preventing pregnancy when taken correctly and consistently, which means it is taken every day around the same time of day. The birth control pill does not offer any protection against STDs

Some common side effects of birth control pills include bleeding between periods, breast tenderness, nausea, and/or changes in mood. These side effects often go away after two or three months of use.

So, I would talk to the doctor about the break through, but if you have just begun taking them, then it is a common side effect.

If you are having trouble remembering to take it at the same time every day, perhaps you should consider injection (Depo), and implants (Norplant) have a failure rate less than 1%.

Good luck to you!

Most Birth Control Pills have an effectiveness of up to 99% percent. But since you said that the pill your on is weak, there is a moderate chance of you getting pregnant.

Honey? Breakthrough bleeding is a sure indication that the pills are not strong enough for you. I know from experience. I bled 3 weeks and was off one week and I ended up getting pregnant and having an almost deadly miscarriage. I hemmorhaged at work. Go back to your gynecologist if you bleed more than your normal cycle. I swear, it can be deadly for YOU! Good luck honey. :) The pills are not strong enough.
