The tattoo is right on the ankle bone, where the skin is thin. For the first few days İ used anaseptic and bapthene cream, now one week latter a horrible scab has formed. The area around the tattoo is dark red, im not sure if it is infected or bruised. Some of the tattoo is not scabbed and it looks like almost all of the ink has disappeared from the skin. What should İ do? i know not to pick it but should İ continue to use cream (i have put only sun cream on for the past few days) bapthene to keep it moist or should İ allow it to dry out and the scab fall off?

Thanks guys. No there are defiently no red lines, im 95% sure it is just bruising because its right on the bone. İll keep it moist with cream and hope that the colours are still there when the scab goes. İf not i'll just go back for a touch up!
Cheers

I have a tat on top of my foot. Had the same issues. Heres what you do. Put Bacatracin (or however you spell it) on it and wrap Saran wrap around your ankle. It will keep the area moist and free from outside contaminants. Do this for about 2 weeks. Then just use the cream. Its what the tattoo parlor suggested and it worked like a champ!

I'm not sure what bapthene cream is .... and i hope by anaseptic, you just mean dial soap or something of that nature. Anything else will dry the tattoo out too much. It most likely is not an infection if you have been keeping it clean. I would stick to skin lotions like Curel or Lubriderm to keep it moist... and soap. That's it.

The exact same thing happened to me with my ankle tattoo. It turned out I was allergic to the tiger balm in the tattoo goo! I switched to Polysporin and the redness went away within a day. My scab finally came off the week after that.
I would suggest switching to polysporin for a week, and if the redness doesn't go away, then definitely see a doctor.
The scab is making it look like the ink has disappeared, but once it comes off, you will see your tat bright and clear.

Double check with the tatoo parlor to see what they recommend, and see a doctor if u think it is infected. Otherwise probably they will advise u to keep putting creme on it and keep it exposed to the air as much as possible. If u see any red lines, long, coming out then it is probably infected.

Keep it moist, but you may have already lost a lot of the ink. You likely will need to let the area totally heal, then get re-inked.

Don't use an anti-fungal cream or anything like that. Keep it clean and only use lubriderm and keep it moist. Everything else atrracts bacteria. It should be totally healed in two weeks. I should know.

Go to a doctor!
None of my tattoos ever became inflamed like that! And I have 7!
You need to soak it in Epsom salts & apply triple antibiotic cream to it several times a day.
Make sure it is exposed to air.
If red veiny lines are extending from it you have a severe infection!
I REALLY reccommended that you see a doctor!

THe same thing happened to me. It's just bruised, like normal. Put Tatoo Goo over it religiously and don't touch it! Then, if it persists, go to a tatoo parlor that is well-respected to ask for advice!

First of all. Why would you get a scanky tattoo and mess up a perfectly good natural look?
For the inflammation or infection....see a doctor and hope you don't have a infection of a anti-biotic resistance bacteria....or the skin eating bacteria.
