I have tried the sticky pads but they fall off. This is for a school building, so I need something cheap and easy, but it has to last.

The sticky pads will last if you clean the bottoms of the legs with rubbing alcohol before you put on the sticky pads. I've also seen schools that put tennis balls on the legs.

Try gluing little carpet squares to prevent chairs from marking up wood or tile floors. Use high quality glue.

Your local hardware store should sell packages of plastic non-marking tacks that hammer into the bottom of each chair leg (assuming that the chairs are wooden).

They look like over-sized thumb tacks. If they are attached corrrectly, they should last for a long time and not mark your floor.

Get felt from Walmart. It is like .29 per big square. Cut them into little squares that will fit on the bottoms. Use super glue to the bottom of each leg.

Good luck!

YOu can get pads, but you may have to go for the nail-in variety.

A good hardware store should be able to set you up.
