Does anyone know if you can more than one tooth abscess
at a time? there is slight discomfort but it goes away for
awhile then throbs on and off.Jaw on both sides seem to be
slightly puffy or tender. Will a rooting and scaling be all I need?Or will a root canal be more likely?.Last, does this mean the pulp is dying? Been like this for 3 weeks..Any analysis or diagnosis will be greatly
appreciated

You can have more than one abscess at a time, more than likely you will need a root canal, sometimes can be treated with just antibiotics. Infection untreated can kill the pulp and also make you very sick.

Please don't waste time looking for answers to this question on a public forum. Dentists are there to help when you're in this situation. Another reply suggested that infections in teeth can go to your heart. This is a bit simplistic, but Bacterial Endocarditis IS a complication of dental infections in rare cases. GO AND SEE YOUR DENTIST.

You need to get to your dentist ASAP! An infection in your mouth can go directly to your heart and you can die. No joke.

If you cannot get into your dentist immediately, go to your M.D. and request antibiotics to help prevent a more serious infection.

Tooth and gum infections are nothing to mess around with.
