haven't read the book, but love the musical. there is a version called "the dream cast" which is perfectly wonderful. there is also a dramatic movie made of the story which starts Liam Neeson as Valjean, also has Geoffrey Rush, Uma Thurman and Claire Danes.
truly great story of the human condition and variations of our responses to life.

It was long and boring and I had to read it in school 43 years ago. I prefer something of historical nature that has a definite subject and a definite ending. By the way you are cute.

The musical was great.
The book was a little slow and heavy, but once you get into it its worth reading.

good book, representative for the 19th century literature. for me the most important aspects of the book are the social( analysis of the social issues of the time) and literary( themes, evolution of characters, etc.) ones.

I was forced to read it in high school and didn't enjoy it very much. I think that now that I'm older I sould read it again. You know how it is when you're forced to read something for school! LOL
I'm adding it to my list.
