I belong to www.bookcrossing.com and this is a site where you can search for books or authors that you want to read and then you can contact the people and see if they want to share the books with you. This way you can share the wealth of books that you have with others and also have someone share this wealth with you.

hi.. find a map.. pick out your local towns. do a yellow pages search for charity shops.. map the postcodes on google earth, plan routes of attack, get loads of cheap books and fun days out, exploring new towns... am i sad for doing this? i know every charity shop within like 50 miles..
