I think it means some games for Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Genesis, Ninendo 64, and Gamecube will be available to download and play on the Wii. The service will be equivalent to itunes for the ipod.

The Wii supports standard Gamecube controllers and Gamecube discs. In addition to these capabilities, the Wii has a "virtual console" which allows the Wii to play games for the N64, SNES, and NES systems by downloading them. Since the games from the older, cartridge-based systems are quite small, the downloads should take only a moment.
