I'm currently using a Smart-Bro internet connection but it's not as fast as it should be... Does anyone know any application or software (free) that can help me increase my internet connection speed?

call your internet provider so they can do a speed test on your line / connection and fix it to the max. speed you are paying for.

Am I guaranteed the published speed?

Smart Bro’s published speeds are the maximum possible speeds given in the broadband connection. While the speed can often burst to such levels, there are times when forms of technical interference such as noise, electrical shorts or software problems can interfere with the speed, which are beyond Smart’s control.

Also, very busy websites like Yahoo and MSN occasionally suffer from slowdowns,, as well as graphic-heavy sites such as ClickTheCity.com. The servers of most of these major sites are often located in other countries, such as the United States, which can further degrade performance due to the distance the signal must travel.

Please note that Smart Bro is responsible only for providing the wireless broadband connection up to a single PC. Using multiple PCs can will further slow down the speed since the bandwidth will be shared among them.

- Make sure your computer is virus/worms/trojan-free
- Are you using recommended connecting device? (modem, router etc)
- if you are using telephone line, ensure the line is clear and not noisy
- use the same connection to any other PCs and monitor how you feel. If the speed is same, probably the ISP may assist you
