Neither. Compaq is OK. While I have not seen one, people say that Acer is OK. But I recommend Toshiba. You can see several at Costco, where they accept returns without hassle. Staples has a Toshiba too, and they accept returns. They have Toshiba at Wal-Mart too.
You have to SEE the laptop before buying. The idea is that you must like the screen and keyboard. Try it before you buy it.
You might like a big screen... but maybe you want light weight. You can't have both.
MAC? Hey, that's Apples and Oranges. With a Mac, it's a hassle to share files with PC users. So unless everybody around you have a MAC, stick with Windows. While a Mac is awesome in every way, sharing data is what it's all about.

Apple pcs are made from high quality aspects. The midlevel Mac expenses $1500. formerly I made the change and commencing utilising Macs, i purchased all my pcs from a chum who owns his owned save construction pcs. Larry insisted on utilising in ordinary words the great aspects. A midlevel computer from Larry value about $1500. even as human beings say Macs are a similar as pcs, yet pcs are more low-priced, what they're extremely affirming is they both do not study about high quality or they don't care - whichever is the case, do you imagine this is a good individual which could actually help you choose a thanks to spend you money? Macs are extra expensive than those pcs you spot contained in the chain shops for the same reason a BMW is extra expensive than a Yugo. the guy who stated Macs have a growing virus chance could re-research his fact. there have been over 500 viruses for the Mac ten years in the past with OS 9 and 5% of the consumer base. immediately there are decrease than 15 viruses for OS X and 10% of the consumer base.

To the person who said Dell. Sure, you may have SOME control about what goes in it, but you're going to pay out the *** for it.
Dells' support and warranty program is also THE WORST in the industry.
There's nothing wrong with Compaq anymore, these days, they are basically made by HP. I have nothing but high praise when it comes to HP's support, wich would include Compaq.

With those three, hands down it's Apple.
However, if you want a PC and not a Mac (there is a difference), look into Dell ... Acer and Compaq are two of the worst PC's on the market.

No doubt about it .... Apple....All the way.
Have you seen that virus commercial where the Apple guy doesn't get a virus? That's just another reason for an Apple. They're easier to operate too.

Dell. All computer companies use the same parts basically. But with Dell you have control of what goes where and why. It isnt some pre packaged computer that has more or less of what you actually need.
