i currently am on a pill called minocycline for my acne, and on the side of that, i am using differin gel. i have been on it for oh say, 7 weeks now. but the acne isnt my problem, i am starting to get dry, flaky skin right under my eyebrows. the big part between the lid and the brow. i put some hydrocoritzon on it before bed last night and i woke up and it was like i just spat on it or something because it had no affect at all. i tried to brush away the dead skin with a toothbrush but nothing seems to be working because it just keeps coming back. what should i do!?

You should be able to purchase some over the counter aloe. My wife wasted a lot of money with a doctor; her friend talked her into using the alow and it worked.

I don't think you are supposed to be using those things anywhere around your eyes. Especially on your eye lids. Its common sense. the skin around your eyes are sensitive. You should use a eye cream without fragrance so it wont burn. Differin gel dries skin like hell so you might want to take it easy with that. You should ask your doctor if you could use a very light oil free face cream. You could also use an exfoliator that will easy off the dead skin cells. That's what I do.

Ok well ance medicine does cause dry skin, but the way you are saying it is it shouldn't be like that. Maybe you show my an appointment and get different medicine for your ance. When i have dry skin i put pH20 on my face it can go on your eyes on everything. You can get it at Walmart for like 5 bucks. Cheep and it works for me. But you shouldn't be too worried about your dry skin you already got the main problem slove you know your ance. Also keep bugging it; it will get worst. Let time take it course and it should be gone soon.

I don't know how well this will work with the things you are taking for your acne, but I use Aveeno body and facial washes. I live up in Alaska where the cold dry weather is really tough on my skin. Most of Aveeno's products contain oatmeal which is really soothing for skin, plus it moisturizes. Its worth a try.

I had this problem too. Use a good exfoliating facewash like st. ives apricot scrub to wash away dead skin cells. When you go to bed use a good moisturizer like Olay's Quench (something thick, and moisturizing) If you wear makeup during the day try not to, if you must use a tinted moisturizer. Hope this helps. It will go away when your skin gets used to it. Mine did :)

Sounds like you're not on the correct medication. Go back to your doctor or dermatologist and show them what is happening. It's drying up your face too much. They should put you on a different medication.
