What exactly do these people expect. Teachers are afraid. Not much parental guidance, if any at all, drug dealers (hello, if you sell drugs, junkies will move into your neighborhood), gang violence and all this is blamed on a lack of education. WELLLL, if you stop making it a dangerous place, I bet you will have a better chance of getting good educators in your schools. Anyone agree?

Bregweidd-Do you really think that this is a question of money or is it a question of upbringing. If the only role model they have at home is a drug dealing father (IF he is even in the picture) what do you think the child is gonna do. 9 out of 10 children between the ages of 7 and 13 say that their parents have more influence on them than their friends, teachers, or others. What about that?? I mean come on, don't you think that if children are raised with a higher level of self that they will strive to be better?

Curly, I am not upper class by any means. I work 2 jobs to make ends meet for my family. So don't give me that crap. I am a secretary during the day(pays nothing) and a cleaning lady at night. I believe in hard work and I do not believe in having SIX kids and not being able to afford to feed them. I am definately not blaming you for this. I AM BLAMING YOUR MOM!! She was not married, didn't have a job, living off someone else (welfare), can't feed yourself or your kids, but HEY LET"S HAVE A BUNCH MORE KIDS. This is the kind of mentality I cannot stand!! THIS IS SO NOT YOUR FAULT, but I wouldn't be surprised of you or your siblings fall into the same cycle. I am sorry for you all. By the way, I lived in Hunt's Point, The Bronx (ie. ghetto) for several years, I know what I am talking about!!
